IDES OF MARCH! MONTHLY MARCH MADNESS CONTEST EXTRAVAGANZA BONANZA H'ALRIGHT!!! FALCON PAONCH!

Following up with the previous post, this is CONTEST INFO!

This contest is being held in honour of the Ides of March and is due on April 03.

The theme is...

Plotting and Villainy!

Draw a scheming antagonist! Write about a clever sneaksneak! Take pictures of a burglaring rapscallion! Vagabonds! Rogues! Scoundrels! Scamps! Scalawags! Hooligans! Hoodlums! Ruffians! Gracious me!

See previous entry for more info on prizes.

The winners will be judged on how creatively and skilfully they can execute the theme. There will be three judges (including myself) to decide who wins based on that. The judges aren't allowed to enter the contest of course, but they are allowed to draw something separately-- it just can't be entered.

I'll edit this entry when I'm less crazy with excitement!

March Monthly Prompt Info :: CONTEST!!

Hey guys. I let everyone have an extension, so if you wanted to finish up your Labyrinth prompt you were more than welcome to, and if you still want to get something in before the 28th, now is your chance.

Because guess what.

I've decided that March's monthly prompt will beeee A CONTEST! The winner(s) will be determined by viewer's choice in a poll. The winner will get to request art from me! It will be in this style (ie my version of a chibi):

1st prize - Two of your characters/whoever's characters interacting, full coloured with basic background like the above.

2nd prize - One of your characters fully coloured.

3rd prize - Sketch of your character.

More info (as well as the prompt) coming as I get this all worked out. Drop some comments and let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions/issues/kittens.

Prompt I

This is for the winter journey prompt.

These are my characters Wellow (left) and Lon (right). They would pretty much fail at winter and snowtime cause they're both desert doods. I imagine Wellow reading the map upside down and Lon complaining the whole time. orz;;

Winter Journey Prompt I Response

Hey, I'm here posting this for my mom.

Winter Journey prompt response

They made this trip no matter what the weather brought. Down the icy road, over the iron bridge, turn into our driveway. I never saw the people, I don’t even know their names. But they brought gifts greater than gold…they brought joy and excitement and left it on the doorstep for us to find. The gifts under our tree were often times sparse, and the things they brought (though at times sparse themselves) made a world of difference to me and my family. Small boxes of candy, a gift or two that would double - double! - the amount of presents we had. What a thrill to hear the a knock on the kitchen door, then find a small pile of treats on our kitchen porch…it was like crafty old Santa snuck in early! That’s what I thought, anyway. Only later, after I grew up did I learn that it was a charity from the people in our town, disbursed to families that did not have so much to spend on presents and trinkets. But oh, what a delight and surprise it was. And now that I am grown up, I have made those same trips, to the same sort of houses I grew up in. It is a debt I feel I should repay. And I feel like I myself am crafty old Santa, slipping silently in and quickly out, dispersing dreams and wishes to all those good children. I never see the people…they don’t even know my name. Maybe they do. Maybe they say it the same way my parents did, with a wink and nod and a knowing smile. “Must have been Santa”, they’d say. “Must have been Santa”.
